Meet a Celebrity.

Lately PayPerPost has an advert by GoFish where posties stand a chance to dine with a Celebrity. I am sure many posties are excited to be the lucky one. However I wish to introduce you to another Celebrity and her name is Onion. Well Onion is not a person but rather an intelligent beauty of a bullie! She appeared in movies like Scences of a Sexual Nature set in England Hampshire Heath.

Onion reminded me of my own bullie Shadow. Bullies or Bull-Terriers are lovely dogs, fearless, loyal and are very good guard dogs. Your children will be safe around one for bullies are known to be lover of kids! Well I have posted a short video clip of Onion here.

WordTracker in the 60’s

May 26, 2007 | 2 Comments

We grew up in the 60’s and 70’s before the advent of computers. Words then had a totally different meaning as compared to present times. If you use Word-Tracker back then, do you wonder what turns out on your search? I must say I got this from someone, not my own concoction but I want to re-produce here for your enjoyment.

Memory was something you lose with age.

An Application was for employment.

A Program was a Radio or TV Show.

A Cursor was one who speak profanities.

A Keyboard was a piano.

A Web was a spider’s home.

A Hard Drive was a long trip on the road.

A Mouse Pad was where a mouse live.

And finally if you had a 3 inch Floppy……………….you just hoped nobody finds out!

The Joy of Blogging

May 25, 2007 | 1 Comment

Coming to my fifth month into blogging and what are my thoughts about blogging? Colleen had done some meme asking bloggers this question, on Suphastar Saturday, Why do you blog? When I first encountered that question, I was quite lost and really unable to say exactly why I blog. Apart from being encouraged by Doris to start my own blog, I suppose I want to know what blogging is all about although heard of it often but never really serious about discovering what it is all about. My greatest fear about blogging was that no one wants to read what you have to say! Personal pride perhaps but if that is so it can be quite discouraging.

Now, I can safely say one thing about blogging from a full-time home care-giver and a stroke survivor’s point of view is that we can still socialize, make and meet new friends world wide even though we are very home bound by circumstances. We really miss the socializing bit in our lives. Even Rock is interested in what others are blogging about, and the various comments! She loves Doris’ blog and Recipes blogs! We are also blessed by well-meaning, concerned bloggers with their well wishes to the both of us, which really encourages us in more ways than they can imagine. You got the feeling that someone out there cares! Makes the world a warmer and friendlier place. Now we no longer care too much about whether any one reads for the joy of doing it is enough.

After awhile into blogging we discovered the possibilities of earning something from blogging! We have to admit that this gives us some motivation! As a retiree I haven’t been earning ever since the Asian Crisis back in 1997! So the feeling is great, although not earning much but the satisfaction of earning something! It is especially satisfying to us being home-bound and at that age, you can still earn some pocket money. Now, I must remember what my pal Franco commented on my post on Gold or Silver anyone, that amassing material wealth as the focus in life is not considered as really having wealth but must consider other aspects of riches such as respect for others, giving to the poor etc. Hey chump I am earning only pittance so it is still a long way to be classified as a money greedy materialistic person. Of course the journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step! We will remember that Franco!

In closing, we like to express our heart felt thanks to our blogger friends, too many to be named now, that you contributed to our blog as much as we do. Thank-you and may our Lord Bless you all in more ways than you can imagine! Amen!

Suphastar Tami

This is my third post on Suphastar Saturday featured blogger. I am enjoying this Suphastar thingy from Colleen chiefly I am getting to know other bloggers in a deeper way. This time round it is Tami and her blog MissWrite says it all. She is a prolific writer and an avid reader of oh! too many books to be mentioned according to what she stated in her profile.

We have a common love and that is Sushi which was discovered by her lately! Well, Tami wait till you read my post on sushi maybe you may change your mind but I haven’t done that yet! I learned from Tami about Publshing and all the complications on her post Independent Publishers. I guess Tami knows all about this topic, being a writer herself. Another thing I discovered that we have in common is our undying love for the old fashioned paper notes! Like me, Tami receives quite a bit of newsletter in e-format but every now and then we still yearn for that piece of tangible asset call paper.

I am happy for Tami being featured on the Suphastar Saturday for she is a faithful follower of this trail and I am also becoming one like her. Congrats! MissWrite and I do enjoy your writings, musings and thoughts.
