We used to have a lovely pet, a English Bull-Terrier and we named him Shadow. All our lives we only keep Bull-Terriers or the American Pit-Bulls. Yes they are fearsome dogs but at the same time they are lovely pets and never known to bite those who are family, including children. I guess the American Pit-Bulls have been demonized and many people fear them. Well, if you the master don't train them to attack then they are just the same as any other breeds. We love the fighting dogs because of its fearless nature. I guess no other dogs can bully them and even humans if they don't use weapons.
We name our pets with names of either spices, fruits etc and never use human names for if you have a visitor of the same name like John then it would be rather embarrassing! Our pets are named Garlic, Shallot and Shadow! So I have a video of Rock and Shadow going for a walk in the neighborhood! Of course this was taken in early 2006, before her stroke.
Well now I am not going to do an episode on SIA now after my MAS series! I am sure many of you have heard of the new Airbus that SIA bought and had an inaugural flight lately and many people rushed to experience the comfort of this famous SIA Airbus and it seems some even paid to a tune of nearly 100k for the flight experience! Would you?
For those of us who somehow missed that inaugural flight don't fret here are some beautiful pictures which I received from a friend showing the comfort! It nearly made flying on that plane at such a price sounded sinful! Enjoy!
At the mentioned of the word 'Botox' most people think of beauty treatment! Well yes thats true but there is another use of Botox and that's for the treatment of Spasticity for stroke survivors. Today I took Rock to meet with a doctor for the Botox Injection to certain muscle groups in her left hand. I did a post on Botox & Spasticity at Nurture Your Own and for more details you can read it all there.
It is now just past two years since her stroke but her left hand is showing very little improvement and her Physiotherapist recommended Botox Injection to relax the muscles which usually lasts for about three months. During this period it will be focused strength building type of exercises for Rock so that her muscles can gain strength to fight against the contraction and hence regain mobility. However it was not done today for the doctor needed to access her condition and it is now scheduled for the 21st December.

Today I missed church because I was flat out from a hectic Saturday! I thank God for little mercies shown to us in our daily routine lives! Dawn is back on holiday and although partly responsible for my hectic Saturday, but without her around I could not help my brother-in-law with the fittings of all the kitchen equipment for his newly renovated house as well as take possession of another house! Dawn was such a blessing to baby-sit Rock while I was out the whole day doing that.
On top of this, early in the morning I had to send Dawn to the hair dresser for a cut which she came back complaining! It seems I sent her to a nearby hair dresser that speaks chinese only and Dawn is a pure 'banana' hence communications problem ending with a totally dissatisfied cut! She went to her room to sulk and cry! Sigh! girls! To me her hair style looks perfect! sigh! men!
In the evening Dawn went out with some friends and she forgotten to take the house keys and I ended up waiting up for her until 3am! I guess most parents would be worried if their daughters are out till the wee hours of the morning! To us, Dawn is always the baby in the family although she is coming to 21 in a couple of months time!
