2010 The Year of Reckoning

In an hour's time, 2009 comes to an end and people of the world welcomes 2010! For Malaysians what are the events that have etched permanent impressions in our minds? Remembered last year 2008 around the same time, I called 2009 a Year of Reflection and now looking back there are many to things that I am thankful for and yet many things that breaks the heart.

Taking a short moment to summarize what were strongly etched in mind the past 11 months and I can see many answers to prayers petitioned but to these answered prayers come a price for us all Malaysians to pay. To me nothing is more important to a citizen of any particular Nation than having Liberty, Justice, Peace and a general sense of well being that things are going in the right direction. From hence the people can enjoy love, joy and peace and building our purpose in living for the spiritual as well as physical needs.

The many exposures of the wrong doings of the present BN Government tells me that there is very little to be desired and definitely a CHANGE is a MUST. Here are some very good reasons for Malaysians to demand for change.

  • Massive, unchecked Corruption.

  • Injustice in our Judiciary.

  • Dictator like control of the citizens through un-Constitutional means of using the Police, Anti-Corruption as well as Religious Agencies and Racism.

  • Abuse of Power to enrich those in power and their families and cronies.

  • Lopsided policies to favour cronies to continue raping and robbing the National Wealth which is meant for all Malaysians.

  • Selective and unjust persecution of Opposition and Human Rights Groups to stifle dissent and corrupt practices.

Without going into details (which can be read from local online Media) I see that all these exposures are God’s way of telling the people to take responsibility and do the right thing in voting for a fair, just and clean Government. The most dangerous act of any citizen is To Do Nothing and let the corrupt system continues. It is also suppressing our own conscience to allow the poor and needy to be neglected while undeserving politicians enrich themselves with our National Wealth. We are RESPONSIBLE for the state of our Government because we ALLOW these things to happen but we continue to keep quiet. Enough is Enough!

For the coming year 2010 my hope is that each and every Malaysian of voting age, do REGISTER and take responsibility to demand our fundamental rights to have good, clean and just governance from the Government of the day. We do not need to be cowered by their threats for I believe God is answering the prayers of the faithful, the plight and cry of the poor and needy as well as the righteous anger at evil and there is nothing to fear except the Wrath of God!

We must continue to pray and pray even more so that the battle is won on the spiritual dimension first before anything can happen on the physical. Trust God and Fear Not the Evil Doers! Let 2010 be a Year of Intense Prayer as well as a Year of Reckoning! Pray for the Fear of God in the hearts of all Government Officials as well as the removal of the current corrupt and evil regime and all those who participate in it. Return our beloved Nation to a harmonious, decent, wholesome place where each and every citizen can benefit from the wealth of the Nation bequeathed to us by Almighty God. Amen!

A Blessing For All

Wisdom Of The Decade In Malaysia!

Conversion is a sensitive word in Malaysia! Why? For a start, most people think of conversion in religious terms. It is perfectly OK for anyone to convert to Islam but it is Not So Easy the other way round. Many cases in the recent past have shown this to be true.

Personally I do not like the word Conversion! It is fine if we are referring to material or physical things like US Dollars to British Pounds or from Katies, Gantang and Chupaks to Kilograms etc.

Then I always wonder about Racial Conversions! Can a Malay become a Chinese? Hemm! I guess no sensible Malay would want to do that. I think there is no such things, I mean Converting your Race to another! God made us from our mother's womb to be whatever race we will be born into! If ever I got a choice I would like to be a Malay in Malaysia or a white-man in Australia! At least I have got more rights by birth as compared to those "Pendatangs!" Sigh! Alas it was never my choice but HIS! Remember, God is JUST! Injustice is caused by the systems of men!

Of course there is Spiritual Conversions! This is perfectly fine and does not have any physical difficulties. A Hindu can change his belief to Islam or Taoism for that matter. Sometimes I just wonder how many of such Conversions are out of a true personal conviction in the Religion and how much is for Perks that comes with such an act?

In Malaysia, anyone who converts to Islam do have certain privileges like entitlement in buying houses or shares at Bumiputra Quotas and Rates! Then there were lots of Indians of Hindu Religion convert to Christianity in India. Some said that it is a way to escape the "Caste System"!

The motivation for this post was due to an Article written by a Chinese Convert to Islam, who goes by the name of Dr. Ridhuan Tee which I consider as Wisdom Of The Decade in Malaysia! So appropriate too since we are just a few days to wind up 2009! You can read about what he wrote Here!

In one of his statements which I quoted below shows that there is such a thing like Convert your Race to another!

"Therefore let us make the changes before it is too late. Do not end later with our religion going no where in our own land. By then, it will be too late............."

The way Dr. Tee refers to "our own land" seems to me that this Malaysia Land often quoted as "Tanah Melayu" or "Malay Land" had become "his to own". Is he implying that he has now Converted his original race to Malay? He is not Chinese? This must be the Miracle of the Century! Better than tweaking some Genetic Codes!

Another "pearl of wisdom" from this learned doctor is as below:-

"In order to prevent the ultra kiasu party continues to become evil, we must at least outline the formula to solve this. My formula is based on the statistical breakdown of races and religions in this country. According to the year 2000 census, the percentages of Malaysians by religions were as follows: 60% Islam, 40% non-Malay (22% Buddhist-Taoism-Confucius, 9% Christian, 6% Hindu, 3% others). This formula can be applied in the context of the nationalization, including justification on the rights of religious festivals and celebrations of all races. This formula fulfills part of the meaning to justification in Islam which means to put things in its place although not completely."

According to Dr. Tee's suggestions which I strongly support is to have all our "Quotas" be it in Government Employment, Business Contracts, etc are given out in accordance to the above ratio!

Bumiputra ( Malay) 60%

Non-bumiputra (non-Malay) 40%

So now we can start talking to ALL Government or GLC companies to employ in accordance to the above magical mathematical formula of Dr. Tee! It will definitely make the non-Malay Malaysians very very happy and what a Happy New Year this coming 2010! Please BN/UMNO your prodigy has spoken with such wisdom and please implement ASAP! Thank-you!

Current figures shows following:-

Bumiputra ( Malay) 95 to 99%

Non-bumiputra (non-Malay) 1% to 5%

Tanjong Tualang – Fresh Water Lobsters

It was about 10 years ago that I went to this place Tanjong Tualang located in the Kinta Valley, Perak State and near to my birth place Kampar. The place is famous for Fresh Water Lobsters or actually big size prawns locally known as "Udang Gala". A pricey commodity. Tanjong Tualang was in the local News because the last remaining Dredge for Tin Ore was to be dismantled.

My father used to take me there for this special dish years ago when I was a kid of 10! Ever since then whenever I am back in my old home-town I made an effort to drop by there for a wonderful meal of Steam Prawns!

Sharing our recent trip there and if you have the opportunity, you must try these out! Actually I preferred the Fried Prawns even the Steam Prawns are delicious too! Enjoy!

An Indictment On Lackadasical Malaysians

Mahathir

Many misguided, uninformed Malaysians will hail this man of clay one of the greatest Prime Minister in Malaysia! Sorry, I beg to differ! Right from the beginning our beloved Father of Malaysia, Tuanku Abdul Rahman saw through his hypocrisy and kicked him out of UMNO. This man of clay reigned supreme in Malaysia for 22 years and this is possible due to the indifference of Malaysians who continue to keep him there! God's Indictment on us, the lackadasical Malaysians for being more interested in the promises of men for material gain than selection based on the time tested and more noble virtues such as Truth, Honesty and Justice in the person's character!

However, later he crawled back into the UMNO camp and became Malaysia's First Dictator for 22 years!!!! Today we, the under-privileged citizens have him to thank for, for all the corruption, social injustices, failed Judiciary and corrupt Police and Anti-corruption agencies. Of course he is in his late 70's and perhaps we can excuse him for uttering irresponsible, divisive statements from time to time that cause racial division and what not. His most famous trait is "Selective Amnesia" on the wrong things he had done. Lately he mentioned that for the rhetorical 1Malaysia Dream to succeed, all Malaysians must forget about their country of origin.

Well, for one I was born HERE! LOCAL! MALAYSIAN! and I am already in my 60's! How many immigrants or like some nasty racist guy (his name not worthy to be mentioned but see photo below) from UMNO said "Pendatangs" are still alive today in Malaysia? Perhaps not more than 10,000? Well, my father was a "Pendatang" and he is already gone 30 years ago!!!!! So who do you think this man of clay is referring to? Perhaps his own father who came from Kerala! Talking about preaching to the dead!!!!!

Ahmad Ismail

Maybe he is referring to those Pendatangs (actually borned here too) who were here for as long as 40 or 50 years but still waiting for their IC's to be issued!!!! Perhaps it was meant for the hundreds of thousands or more Indonesians of the right race or religion and who were given IC on the spot?

I guess when some one gets too old, one can take advantage of our Asian Culture of respect for the elders and get away with saying all sorts or ridiculous and irresponsible things! I wonder did he ever wonder why God gave him long life? I hope he lives longer to see all the evil he created in Malaysia get thrown out by the next People Elected Government! You Reap What You Sow!

The way I see it is that the biggest mistake of UMNO is to let such a CREEP crawled back into the fold to cause the downfall of a once great political party founded by Datuk Onn Jaffar! Maybe I am also learning from him and take advantage of my age and blabber what I like!!!!!
