Growth of Neo-Nazism in Malaysia?

Today local News reported that about 50 Groups launched the NGO Consultative Council (MPM) to defend Malay Rights and Islam. Among the prime movers are Perkasa, ex-Umno lawmakers council Mubarak, Peninsula Malay Students Confederation (GPMS), Malay Professional Thinkers Association and Cuepacs.

When Perkasa was launched, ex-PM Dr. Mahathir officiated the launching and remarked that the rise of Perkasa was because of UMNO's failure to protect Malay Rights!

With today's launching of MPM it looks like there will be a direct challenge to UMNO's Malay support and many believe that UMNO is in her death throes.

I do not understand what MPM's objectives are for I cannot see any threats to Malay Rights, Islam and even the Royalties. The implications in their speeches indicated threats from non-Malay and non-Islamic groups! Claims but nothing to substantiate these claims.

I just wonder what happened when over 50 years of affirmative actions, priviledges, Malay control of all Government Organizations and Corporations like Petronas (Petrol); Tenaga (Power); Telekoms (Telecommunications); most local Banks, yet they still feel threatened? Is it a case of low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence etc.? I do not really know how else and what else these Malays want to control then they feel secured? Perhaps they want to control people's right to free speech and expressions!

I see this as a form of Neo-Nazis Regime and they being the majority in numbers, the minorities should feel threatened! All they are interested is to promote the interest of one particular race whereas Malaysia is Multi-racial! What is more alarming is the current BN (UMNO) Government being so quite and let them do as they want! Well, the other component parties in BN are also quite which is expected by many and is just a reflection of their impotence.

Is our current PM dare not challenge the ex-PM? Or is this a big conspiracy of these two? Food for thought. Whatever it is, the days ahead spell trouble with such a formation! I wonder whether sincere questions raised on Malay, Islamic or Royalty issues be stemmed out by this MPM labeling such as a challenge to their RIGHTS and if so, then their RIGHTS include doing anything anyhow they like!

It seems that as long as the person or politician or Government of the day that robs them, betrays them is NOT a Non-Malay, it is acceptable. I guess in the days ahead more young non-Malay professionals will be migrating to other Countries to escape these Neo-Nazis. Even Tengku Razaleigh, our respected Malay Politician said that the Malay professionals are migrating too! another slap in the face to our PM on his 1Malaysia slogan.

Canning of Women in Malaysia

Hi folks, I am back after a week off blogging due to the Chinese New Year plus some pressing family matters. The family is fine, happy and healthy. Few days ago and about three months living with us, our auntie evie moved into an Old Folks Home and we received calls from her that she is happy there! Whew! we too are happy that things work out fine after all. All in all this is the best for her since she's single, unable to work and even taking care of herself for the matter.

The only sad and terrible thing that happened since the Chinese New Year was the 'Canning Of Three Muslim Women' which caught international interest as well as in our blogosphere. Most people were shocked by the canning and many had voiced out their objection on the basis of Civil Law which prohibits the canning of women. However as expected, our Islamic NGO's came out defending the canning and they were angry at those opposing the issue sighting 'insult to Islam' and these people has no right to comment since they 'do not understand Islam' it seems.

In Malaysia, nobody can comment anything Islamic on the same grounds that non-Muslims are ignorant of Islam. I also noticed that these Islamic NGO's seem to get angry very easily! All it takes are some negative comments about Islam or more appropriately 'the practice of certain Muslims' they come out shouting, spewing fire and threathen to turn violent as well! I wonder how much of these 'anger shouting' are really a form of blackmail to shut-out any healthy discussions. I gather that 'discussions or dialogue' are not welcome observing how things are run in Malaysia. Remember the recent issue of the Christians using the word "Allah" in their publications?

Everyone knows that Islam as a religion teaches about peace and good but the issue is not Islam per se but more of 'Muslims practicing Islam' that caused so many controversies in Malaysia or in our World for the matter. I guess Religion is a very sensitive thing and many Wars were Religious Wars and if we believe that only Muslims can understand Islam, Christians only can understand Christianity; Hindus only can understand Hinduism etc then there is no place for any discourse and many people having genuine questions on these religions will not be able to have an open discourse. It seems that any Religion in its Fundamental Form is quite a scary thing!

Malaysia seems to be making International Headlines for all the wrong reasons lately and who knows what else will happen with our Government growing more and more powerless to stop these free running NGO's spewing racist and bigotries. I suspect that these NGO's are just the voice for the Government who want to look good to the people but in reality racist and religious bigots. How else could these NGO's get away with all the poison they spew out whereas any criticisms from the Opposition were investigated for sedition or causing racial tension?

I just read a very angry post by Malaysia's popular Blogger Art Harun on what I mentioned above. You can read what Art said Here!

Deadliest Cancer is Denial

I consider the deadliest cancer found among human beings is "Denial". Slowly but surely denial will transpose the belief system within a person into unreality. The vision one has of the outside world will be a Lie and what greater harm can one do to oneself when we begin to have myopic and tainted views on people and issues. Worst still to lie to oneself!

Hatred will fester in the heart giving rise to anger and eventually violence will be manifested. He or she will be trapped within himself and until and unless, this person is willing to admit and repent of this cancer / sin, then the self-destruction will perpetuate till death; physical and spiritual death. In such condition, your prayers to God will not be heard let alone answered. Perhaps that's why God seems to be so far away and silent?

Keeping tab on our local political on-goings seem to indicate this Cancer found in our BN Government. Have you noticed how many times when certain crime, corruption, injustice were being exposed, the first thing you would hear would either be some justification or some denial statements coming out from them. some of these even sounded so ridiculous, incredible and devoid of decency and simple logic.

If we match these symptoms of Denial with our current state of Malaysia as a country as compared to our neighbours or the world, didn't you noticed the decline in almost every yard-sticks that were used for comparison?

These are signs of decay! The cancer is spreading and eventually leading to the death of a Nation. People of Malaysia must "Bankit" to borrow a word from the 'Keuanan' proponents and if we really care and are concerned about the good of our Nation. No, I don't mean using violent means but as a dutiful, responsible citizen of this country, we must show our displeasure using our votes in the next General Election. Those who live by the sword will die by the sword as the Good Lord said.

Yeah, these racist Ketuanan proponents may threaten us with May 13th, burned places of worship etc but remember, fear not the things that kills the body but rather those that cause us to loose our souls! What is the point in defending God so passionately when the simplest call to Love Thy Neighbour as Thyself is thrown to the winds? When the true Spirit of God is absent, it will be replaced with religious forms and human vigor and the log in their own eyes they see not but the speck in a brother's eyes we amplify!

Please, fellow Malaysians, especially the younger ones who are eligible to vote please REGISTER YOURSELVES AS VOTERS! not so much as your right but more so for your own future and those after you! We love our Nation and this alone drives us to stand-up and say NO to Racisim, Religious Intolerance, Corruption, Injustice and Lawlessness! Whatever the BN may offer you, money, power and even sex it's not worth it.

A Divine Connection

Lunar New Year has a unique essence of refreshing our memories of people in our past that has an impact in our lives! Perhaps the Reunion Dinner brings back sweet old memories, hopefully, and that leads to some old faces that keep coming up.

Lately, my former college mate Lai from Vietnam was reconnected with the old collegians and my brother and friend P and his family from the Irrawaddy Delta and what a timing that I have receive good news of another couple, our mentors from the Kuching days in the early 80's! Well, meet the Ewings from Singapore!

The Ewings

What a lovely family but their pretty daughter Emilly is missing! Emilly is really a pretty girl, even as a kid of just 3 when we met her? The handsome young man on the left is Paul and next to him his pretty wife Jessica with their bundle of joy Elyssa Grace! The loving (grinning from ear to ear) pair on the right are the proud Grans, Timothy and Joyce. Sorry Paul I think Tim is more handsome in his younger days! Now looking at the senior Ewings, how alike they both look! The Chinese believed that after years of marriage, the couple has a resemblance to each other. How true it is just see for yourself.

I named this post as Divine Connection simply because our meeting with the Ewings in the early 80's in Kuching Sarawak, had all the stamp of God's hands in it. Well it was a rather long story but take it from me that miraculous is the word. It seems like when our Lord build anything, be it relationships, marriages or physical structures, even organizations, there is an eternal quality about them.

Apart from the divine meeting between us, the very things we did together as a Body of Christ were full of excitement and joy. Of course there were blood sweat and tears too! Well a bit of exaggeration here, really there was no blood. Perhaps one day I will share some here. Meantime just like to congratulate Timothy and Joyce of their new found joy of seeing their down-line ( borrowing a term from marketers) and of course our congratulations to Paul & Jessica for their status upgrade to parenthood! Welcome Paul and Jessica and both of you will understand the love of parents after going through it all! Of course the Father's Love too. Hope to hear what you got to share some years later!

Enters The Tiger Of Malaysia

Tiger

Year Of The Tiger this is! Brings to mind a well known Chinese Saying that "a tiger, fierce as it is, will not eat her young" Usually the continuation after such an opening statement goes something like "therefore a crook will not harm his own children".

So what has this got to do with this post? To start with I want to say "A Tiger, fierce as it is, will not eat her young so how come our Government steals and robs from her own citizens"! I guess what ferocious animal will not do, humans are capable of doing. This alone makes "human-beings" to be most dangerous living mammal on earth!

What more if a Government elected by the citizens begin to lie, steal, murder and rob her own citizens? What then must the citizens do? Obviously, to throw them out in the next General Election. As a citizen of Malaysia I am getting rather angry and totally disappointed with our current Barisan Government. I think more than 50% of the population are, basing on the results of the last GE. It seems like denying Barisan short of the two-third majority is not the way. Perhaps the people of Malaysia just wanted to give Barisan a wake-up call but obviously instead of humbling themselves and listen to the heart cry of her citizens it does the exact opposite!

Perhaps out of desperation to cling to power they use whatever force and powers under their control to unjustly silence critics, police arrests, harassment and dissensions. Provoking the anger of the people more and their show of arrogance in so many high profile legal cases. On top of all these are the usual 'denials' that come out so ever readily in response to any accusations or exposures before they even want to weigh and reflect before opening their mouths to speak arrogance, and utter nonsense and justifications that make them look more moronic!

Well, as the saying goes, give the monkey long enough rope and it will hang itself is coming to be true for Barisan. I foresee in the next GE the trouncing will be more severe if not totally wipe off the political landscape in Malaysia which to me is an exceptionally good thing for the people and the nation on the whole.

Not that we, the citizens are not loyal or love this nation any less but it is just the opposite. We sincerely, truly love this nation too much to allow racists and bigots in government positions to bring this rich and beautiful country to the brink of destruction. We must "Bangkit" and vote what is good for the people's future rather than stick to archaic cultural values that can no longer be sustainable for a new world order of globalization where many countries are getting out of archaic tools such as race, religion and tribal policies.

In conclusion I pray and hope that each and every loyal citizens insists to have a say in how we want to see Malaysia should be in the near future. Forget about race, useless cultural values and party alignment be the decisive factor but rather the general good for all Malaysians be the basis in our voting in the next GE! Happy Hew Year and May The Tiger devoured all the ugliness of race and religious intolerance, corruption, injustice and resignations of self-serving politicians in our beloved Malaysia!
