For the love of Malaysia
Perhaps many Malaysians and foreigners know of Malaysiakini, Jeff Ooi, Lim Kit Siang blogs and read them to get alternative views on current state of affairs in Malaysia, but there is another great site/blog that we must read. It is none other than The Other Malaysia which basically focus on national issues from the academic view point covering culture, history as well as politics. It receives the Honourable Mention in the 2007 Brass Crescent Awards for Best South/Southeast Asia Site.
One particular article that I enjoyed reading was Abdullah’s Bible! I am sure for many senior folks you must have heard of our famous writer Munshi Abdullah and it is about him. For those of you who are Malaysians who are living overseas or migrated, you will get a dosage of what is happening in Malaysia through the eyes of a group of Malaysian intellectuals, thus giving a blanced view of current issues! Check it out and see for yourself!

Got something to say?

Thanks BJ for unearthing this gem site that locals like me didn’t even know things that were happening at our own backyard (I am referring to Abdullah’s Bible)! Maybe I am another ‘tidak apa’ (couldn’t be bothered) type…hehe!
Hi hfchang, you are the only one who commented on this post! Wow! Can see that you are the type that love serious and thinking type of writings like what was posted on this fantastic website! congrats!
Yeah BJ, Just caught up with the winds of change that’s sweeping our country and also that around the region, Taiwan, to be specific. In my early school days political issues were given a skip because maybe we couldn’t comprehend the immediate ramification of the issues on hand then. But as we mature so are our thoughts and feelings.
Well said hfchang, I believe Malaysians are maturing in their political thinking now or at least we are all waking up!
