Once again it's Wimbledon Season this time of the year. This year, I miss my super-star Rafael Nadal who pulled out of Wimbledon due to injury problems. The field is now wide open and many think that Roger Federal is going to win! My take on this year's champion is Andrew Murray, the British player who has shown such skills and he is the most improved all round Grass-Court Player.
I watched all his matches, I find Andy Murray is a very intelligent, fast and powerful tennis player who has an all round game. His most outstanding feature is his "Peripheral Vision" when he is going at the ball. Very few players demonstrate this capability, not even Roger Federal or Rafa Nadal! What I meant when I say Peripheral Vision is the capability of having one eye on the ball and the other watching his opponent and locating where he is! that is why Andy Murray have so many great passing shots etc.
As for the Ladies side, my take is again a Final between the William Sisters of the US! This time, I don't see any potential challenge from the rest of the female players! Personally, I think Serena is the stronger player than Venus but on Grass, Venus has the advantage of being lithe and quick. No matter what this year Wimbledon Finals will be another epic match like last year between Rafa Nadal and Roger Federal!
Well folks, I was totally out of connection for 5 days!!!!! The problem was with my ISP and it took them such a long time to fix the problem which was on their side. Just this morning, my internet connection was restored!
To my astonishment I had few hundred emails, twitter requests, facebook invites and a few shouts from other social networks. The most interesting email and shout was from my dear friend The Insane Writer who is Sponsoring a free contest for Duo New Nourishing Hand Cream and Hand, Nail & Cuticle Salve by GildenTree.com.
Prizes include a tube of Natural Hand Cream from Gilden Tree which will be timely for my dry skin problem on both of my palms and soles of my feet! Somehow the skin became exceptionally dry and peeling! If I win the Prize it would be good for me to try out this Natural Hand Lotion Product.
Hey the Competition is for everyone! Hop over to The Insane Writer to win these fantastic products!
The title sounded very much from some financial report but I assure you that it is definitely not about finance! I did some search on fatal traffic accidents in Jamaica and it seems that there are quite some fatal road accidents!
You can read all about these from the The Kingston
Chronicles where you find some serious accidents every few days! Here is an excerpt from some accidents report :-
Police Traffic Division statistics for Jamaica (the largest English speaking island in the Caribbean) were reviewed for the years 1985 - 1990. Data revealed that the majority of fatal accidents occurred between 3 and 6 pm (23 percent) and involved mainly pedestrians (44 percent). Vulnerable road users (pedestrians, motor and pedal cyclists along with their passengers) accounted for 65 percent of fatalities. The month of December accounted for the highest proportion of fatalities.
Now do you ever wondered why is that so in Jamaica? authorities blamed them on bad roads, poor road signs etc but take a look at the photos below and you'll know why accidents are fatal!!!
Look again! they don't wear helmets!!!! What are you looking at anyway?????? Have a nice day!
Wisdom! Yes, who doesn’t desire to have this rare thing! King Solomon of the Bible was considered a wise King and yet having nearly 1,000 mother-in-laws seem to prove otherwise! The seniors or the elders are presumed to be wise or possess Wisdom and yet there is a saying “There is no fool like an old fool” So on and on it goes, this elusive Wisdom thing.
Especially for this year 2009, everyone needs Wisdom in their financial investments on how to survive an economic winter! If you wanna read some Wise Financial Advise, how about some from the famous Warren Buffet? My blog buddy did a post Here!
I am sure many people regard the Dalai Lama as someone who possesses Wisdom and so here are some of his wise sayings but I am not sure as well as unable to confirm whether these are from the real Dalai Lama or just from an imposter! Well, just for laughs anyway.
Hi! friends, haven't been blogging for a week! Sorry for not visiting or even replying to your comments! Well. we were being kept very very busy by my sisters-in-law! Ever since the return of the lively Ruby, it was a week of Food, Food, Food and more Food! We had two Birthday Celebrations and lots of lunch and dinners invitation right up to Ruby's departure two days ago!
On top of all these we were watching the US Open every night up till the wee hours in the morning and waking up late! If you folks have been following the US Open, you would have noticed a drop in performance by the World Number 1, Rafael Nadal! Even from the Beijing Olympics Gold Medal Match, I noticed a drop in Nadal's Performance! He is not so sharp, not so quick and overall quite a lack lustre performance.
Yesterday's Semi-finals with Andrew Murray exposed Nadal's weaknesses and his lethargic play! Somehow the 'Fire' in this great Champion is wanning! It was lucky for Nadal that the rain came or else I don't think he could have won the 4th Set and he was 2 Sets down! The Match was postponed to today and hopefully Nadal reviewed his mediocre performance as compared to Andrew Murray and come-up with a more strategic game plan. It was obvious that Nadal was loosing in his favorite base-line play to Andrew who had a superior 1st Serve and fantastic powerful down the line shots that caught Nadal scampering from side to side! At this point in time I cannot see Nadal beating Roger Federal even if he is lucky enough to beat Andrew Murray!
I guess I should be back in full force blogging after the finals of the US Open! thanks for your comments and looking forward to do some blog hopping soon! Meanwhile, stay healthy and happy!
