The Walk of Life

authentic life experiences in Malaysia

Congratulations! You are OK!

Yeah, the title of this post is music to my ears as well as every family member of ours. I went for a full medical check-up lately and the results of my blood test and chest X-rays came back with 'bad news'! This means further tests required to see how serious. I have Diabetes Mellitus Type I and my blood tests showed 'poor control'. This is not so worrying as compared to my chest X-ray which showed some 'growth' in my lung!

Everyone in the family was concerned. Nowadays any 'growth' is to be frowned upon and I was scheduled for a CT Scan and a Biopsy a week later. For the whole week everyone seems to be rather quiet. Our family is a joyous bubbly group and when everyone is quiet especially when I was around, it means something serious lah!

Yesterday I had my CT Scan done and when the doctor was going through the results, it was a tense moment. If he saw something 'bad' then a Biopsy would be done immediately. There was I lying on the bed with two nurses on my right and left ready to stick probes inside my lungs to take tissue samples for testing! Then suddenly, the nurses removed all the attachments on my chest and said "Congratulations! You are OK!" and boy, what a relief! No need to do biopsy for the growth was non-tissue but a small calcification measuring 1cm by 2cm in my lung and shown as a shadow on the X-ray.

I post this as an appreciation and thanks to friends and fellow bloggers who wish me well when I posted about my medical check-up 10 days ago! So now I have a clean bill of health, sort of except I have to see the doctors for some prescription for my diabetes to bring it to a healthier level! Thank the Lord for seeing me through it all!
