Crime And Punishment
Lately there were a series of newspaper reports on some serious crimes such as gang rapes, and some even lead to murder. The most shocking was today's report on a gang-rape of a woman who was forced off the road by this gang, kidnapped and taken to an isolated spot and gang-raped. The most shocking was that one of the perpetrators is a 13 year-old boy!
Most of us have seen the trauma and pain of the victims of rape but not many have seen the punishment for the rapist! In my country, canning plus jail term is the punishment deal out to rapists. The number of strokes and the length of the jail term depends on the degree of seriousness of the crime committed. Want a peek into how these criminals, rapist are canned? Warn you that it can be gory, shocking if you cannot stomach blood.

When i view it that time, I was wondering when the person who got canned, during the canning process, do u think he was sorry for what he had done to the victim?
How sad that things like this happen in todays age. I even say on the news today that 3 students were shot execution style in New York.
Viewed out of context, the punishment may look gory and brutal, but consider the pain and mental anguish the crime must have caused to families and children.
Murder, rape, sodomy… if you were to actually experience one or witness it happening to someone you love, in all honesty wouldn’t you want to rub salt into the wounds after the caning (despite your faith in God and knowing the need to forgive)?
but somehow, wonder how some rich and famous can even get away with the more serious crimes? you know what i mean. ::wink::

Thanks for sharing this. I cannot imagine I really watch that video. Now my whole body is shaking from shock & pain. I feel sad that things have to happen this way. It is really torturing & sore. But what to do… cos he is the bad guy to commit crimes…. sigh !!
U know, I feel that punishment by canning and jail term is really too lightly for those clear cut rape cases. If i’m not wrong, muslim law punish them by making them eunach? I think this should be implemented for all rapist and child sexual offenders alike. Seriously, if capital punishment is an option, and we can vote for it, I will definitely vote for that.
the cane is laced with some chemical and the scars are there to stay.

i agreed with andrew shim. As i viewed the video, i pity the guy, but what he had is just temporary physical pain. After a while, he’ll be ok.
But the pain that the victim and their families had to go through, is far more unbearable and they had to go through it for the rest of their life.
