Wisdom Of The Decade In Malaysia!

Conversion is a sensitive word in Malaysia! Why? For a start, most people think of conversion in religious terms. It is perfectly OK for anyone to convert to Islam but it is Not So Easy the other way round. Many cases in the recent past have shown this to be true.

Personally I do not like the word Conversion! It is fine if we are referring to material or physical things like US Dollars to British Pounds or from Katies, Gantang and Chupaks to Kilograms etc.

Then I always wonder about Racial Conversions! Can a Malay become a Chinese? Hemm! I guess no sensible Malay would want to do that. I think there is no such things, I mean Converting your Race to another! God made us from our mother's womb to be whatever race we will be born into! If ever I got a choice I would like to be a Malay in Malaysia or a white-man in Australia! At least I have got more rights by birth as compared to those "Pendatangs!" Sigh! Alas it was never my choice but HIS! Remember, God is JUST! Injustice is caused by the systems of men!

Of course there is Spiritual Conversions! This is perfectly fine and does not have any physical difficulties. A Hindu can change his belief to Islam or Taoism for that matter. Sometimes I just wonder how many of such Conversions are out of a true personal conviction in the Religion and how much is for Perks that comes with such an act?

In Malaysia, anyone who converts to Islam do have certain privileges like entitlement in buying houses or shares at Bumiputra Quotas and Rates! Then there were lots of Indians of Hindu Religion convert to Christianity in India. Some said that it is a way to escape the "Caste System"!

The motivation for this post was due to an Article written by a Chinese Convert to Islam, who goes by the name of Dr. Ridhuan Tee which I consider as Wisdom Of The Decade in Malaysia! So appropriate too since we are just a few days to wind up 2009! You can read about what he wrote Here!

In one of his statements which I quoted below shows that there is such a thing like Convert your Race to another!

"Therefore let us make the changes before it is too late. Do not end later with our religion going no where in our own land. By then, it will be too late............."

The way Dr. Tee refers to "our own land" seems to me that this Malaysia Land often quoted as "Tanah Melayu" or "Malay Land" had become "his to own". Is he implying that he has now Converted his original race to Malay? He is not Chinese? This must be the Miracle of the Century! Better than tweaking some Genetic Codes!

Another "pearl of wisdom" from this learned doctor is as below:-

"In order to prevent the ultra kiasu party continues to become evil, we must at least outline the formula to solve this. My formula is based on the statistical breakdown of races and religions in this country. According to the year 2000 census, the percentages of Malaysians by religions were as follows: 60% Islam, 40% non-Malay (22% Buddhist-Taoism-Confucius, 9% Christian, 6% Hindu, 3% others). This formula can be applied in the context of the nationalization, including justification on the rights of religious festivals and celebrations of all races. This formula fulfills part of the meaning to justification in Islam which means to put things in its place although not completely."

According to Dr. Tee's suggestions which I strongly support is to have all our "Quotas" be it in Government Employment, Business Contracts, etc are given out in accordance to the above ratio!

Bumiputra ( Malay) 60%

Non-bumiputra (non-Malay) 40%

So now we can start talking to ALL Government or GLC companies to employ in accordance to the above magical mathematical formula of Dr. Tee! It will definitely make the non-Malay Malaysians very very happy and what a Happy New Year this coming 2010! Please BN/UMNO your prodigy has spoken with such wisdom and please implement ASAP! Thank-you!

Current figures shows following:-

Bumiputra ( Malay) 95 to 99%

Non-bumiputra (non-Malay) 1% to 5%
